The Challenge
Creating a mobile app will allow users to purchase insurance for booked stays for their rented property. The app will also include a claims system where the user can submit claims on the covered stays and view the progress of their claim. Designing for a demographic unfamiliar with tech and current design patterns. Working remotely with other designers and creating a flexible design that worked for both iOS and Android since the application was developed
My role as Lead UX Designer

- Competitor research
- Demographic Research and personas
- Wireframes. high-fi mockups, low-fi to high-fi prototypes
- UI Design
Assessing the impact of the new user-centric design on the IMS and end users.
Monitoring the need for design changes as the IMS progresses and adjusting / updating as appropriate.
Evaluating existing applications and suggesting improvement after interview with stakeholders and end users based on their workflow and needs.
The Personas
One of 4 main personas we identified was of “Judy”. We thought it would be interesting to examine the design accommodations for an older population.
Judy Goldstein “Empty Nester”
Judy is a grandmother living with her husband in the suburbs. Both of them are devoted Christians who go to church and thrive on adventure and meeting interesting people. Her hobbies are reading, talking to her children on the phone, gardening, and modeling. She is an empty nester, and she hosts guests to make ends meet.
The Insight
We tried to keep the interaction as straightforward as possible while considering the potential constraints our end users might face. We have focused on the most essential interactions and minimal friction. Concentrated on ensuring the add stay flow is as quick and easy as possible and the insurance information is user-friendly and visual.
